Leatherman has come up with a multi-tool bracelet / wristwatch. Should be available sometime this spring for between $150 - $200 for the bracelet. $550 - $600 for the watch.

I don't know how to feel about this... It's like tacticool jewellery. You are wearing your multi-tool on your wrist. Any time you use it you risk getting it scratched and killing the bling factor. Not only that, how much leverage can you possibly get with lose links? Something tells me it won't be cool anymore with grease on it and it won't be a very good multi-tool.

Is this even the kind of jewellery guys like to wear? Watch guys spend a lot of time selecting timepieces that match their tastes. With this you get one utilitarian flavor and that is it. It's probably also going to be quite thick. I guess you are sending the message that you like to tinker with one of those just like you are sending a geek message by wearing a smartwatch. Maybe it will be worth it to some guys just for that.

Thoughts?

I was just going to post this!

It''s an interesting concept. The black one is duracoated so it seems durable. But it's meant to trick airport security and be obscure in most places. All in all I find it bulky and price prohibitive for me though.

cool concept, but i wouldnt pay 500 for a watch and tighten a screw with it. Like the op mentioned, you could get a smart watch....,soon an Apple watch for the same price. I have a cheap swiss key tool that has most of the tools you may need in a pinch and its the size of and looks just like a key if you really care about being discrete. I wouldnt risk taking that one through an airport and I really wouldnt risk it with that leatherman. I like the innovation put into the leatherman, but i doubt this one is going to be a real hit for them. Id be a buyer in the 75 to 100 range for the watch. It is pretty damn cool though!

I want one. I won't go for the watch version, but I can see myself figuring out how to attach a watch. I think it would be neat if they made an adapter that could take a watch the same way that G10 bands work.

I can see this working well for me, getting access to more screw-drivers instead of carrying a bit-kit. Plus I really dig the nerd/maker/diy factor. Even out in the bush I can see this being very useful as you can never know what sort of thing you might need to fix.

A stealth multi-tool that can be worn in clothing and situations where a standard MT would be inappropriate or uncomfortable? That sounds great! At that MSRP? Maybe not.

I can completely see sacrificing a bit of function for something you can tighten the odd screw with while wearing a suit, though, so maybe it's just aimed at a different demographic.

I don't think those will cut two strand barbed wire in an emergency. Not much use for me.
