No, but I have had original Waves replaced with new Waves, which I hate. If you send one in, be sure to note on the form that it has sentimental value and you want it repaired, not replaced.

My dad had an original PST that was swapped as he wasn't aware that they were discontinued, so yeah, let them know, or just accept that a repair may not be possible, and you may risk loosing that tool (if it's super special, my dad wasn't worried, he just wasn't a fan of the replacement)

Original Wave:
Locking outer blades.
New Wave:
Outer and inner blades lock. Large and small bit exchangers.
New Wave slightly fatter, won't fit in Original Wave case. Most New Wave cases also come with room for bit assortment.
Wave Plus:
Like New Wave but with replaceable cutters on pliers. Study carefully; quiz next Tuesday! T-A
