leatherman warranty

hi all, first hope everyone has a safe memorial day weekend. two weeks ago i sent leatherman my old supertool with a completely snapped off saw blade , blade now in 30 feet of water. i called leatherman and was told to send note and tool to them.i asked about fee for return shipping and they told me they pay that end, which imho is a sweet deal for the elu. well today the brown truck delivereda package. inside a brand spanking new supertool 200 with sheath and a note explaining my tool is a retired model and they sent me the upgraded model. i read about leatherman customer service being excellent on this forum and you guys were not wrong. thanks for listening , high

I often buy friends/family Leatherman Tools as gifts....


they NEVER send in the warranty cards.

whenever there was any small problem LM Tools were always excellent in every aspect of the word.

always good to share these experiences!
 
I had a great experience with Leatherman aftern sending in my broken Supertool. It came back fixed to perfection and with blade sharpened. Only took about a week to complete and return to me.
 
I have four WAVEs. My original one had been through the wringer. I had broken both the tips off prying a cotter key out of a planter. Then I smoothed them off and kept using it. Finally, I broke the plain edge blade while clearing twine wrapped around a weedeater head. That put it in storage. I dug out a second one and used it quite a bit, but bent the saw cutting through a small tree. I emailed Leatherman explaining what happened to both and asked what my options were (replace blade / straighten saw). I received a prompt response saying both are covered, just send them in with a note. I checked my mail today and had two brand new WAVEs along with a personalized letter from the Leatherman customer service rep who had responded to my email. I just kept saying "WOW" and promptly used that as a great customer service example when I returned to work after lunch. As a result of their service and the rep's suggestion (I had made suggestions about a bigger WAVE), I'll buy the Surge when it comes out and continue supporting Leatherman. Great tools and great customer service.
