Are these Wave Plus models a new item or just a special run for Leatherman. Also any news on new Leatherman tools this year? I know we should here from Shot Show this week just wondering if anyone has an inside scoop.

They are on a online knife store so I don't know if I can do link without breaking a rule. If you Google should come up.

It's been years since I had a Wave. How is this one different besides being coated black?

I may be wrong but the pics I saw and the info is they come with removable wire cutters like the Surge has.
The wire cutters is the difference on the plus models. I only saw them on one online knife dealer website so I don't know if they are special for them or not.

Ah that makes sense. The replaceable cutters has been such a common feature on the LM tools I have purchased that I had forgotten then weren't an across-the-board thing.

Its about time the wave got an update, so I'm not surprised that its the case. I think we'll see a lot of updates over the next couple weeks, someone might have gone ahead of schedule.

So far, I haven't found a web site featuring a Wave Plus with replaceable cutters, including that of Leatherman. The only thing offered under that name on any site I could find is a regular blackened Wave.

update: Whoops! Just found it on the Leatherman site. It wasn't there last time I checked. Looks great, just like the original, but with replaceable cutters. Looks like the Charge has also been retrofitted.

No, it looks like the New Wave, not the original. I guess that enough of us made Raves by putting Rebar plier heads in New Waves that they decided to go along. I just hope I die before I run out of Original Waves.
