I got a leatherman wave a few days ago (previously had a PSTII) and I LOVE it. I am a computer service technician so I end up using it a lot.
I find the snap on the leather sheath cumbersome and I was wondering if anyone has a custom kydex sheath, either vertical or horizontal carry, and could point me to someone who could make one similar?
Here is why I feel the wave is the best multi tool for someone working on computers:
Needle nose pliers, the swisstool has stubby pliers that are not nearly as good for moving jumpers around in tight spots
Phillips screwdriver, the leatherman one is virtually indestructable and is the perfect shape for virtually every screw you'll encounter in a computer. (victorinox rounds theirs off too much)
Slotted screwdrivers are beveled on one end, and they make great prying devices for when you need one. (getting the case off that damn macintosh)
Scissors were improved over the PST II, now you can cut virtually anything with them, the bar you push on will never slide past the blade bar.
Knives, although we all carry bigger nicer extras, are easily accessable and lock nicely.
Hopefully some of you have some leads for me to follow
