My beloved leatherman wave of 4 years was liberated from me in the recent past. I've edcd my my gerber paraframe since then, but need a multitool again. I was thinking of buying a new Wave, but was looking at the ChargeTTI. It looks interesting, but I'm not sure if the extra features are worth the buy. I rarley found my wave to be in any way not enough for me. Wondering what differences you've noticed and if you think the Charge is worth looking into more.

Thanks!

Stainless steel scales (New Wave) vs. Titanium scales (Charge TTi)
420HC straight blade (New Wave) vs. S30V straight blade (Charge TTi)
No cutting hook on 420HC serrated blade (New Wave) vs. Cutting hook on 420HC serrated blade (Charge TTi)
No wire crimpers (New Wave) vs. Wire crimpers (Charge TTi)
8.5oz (New Wave) vs. 8.2oz (Charge TTi)
Quick release lanyard ring/Quick release pocket clip not included (New Wave) vs. Quick release lanyard ring/Quick release pocket clip included (Charge TTi)

Price difference between New Wave and Charge TTi ~41 USD.

If you were happy with your old Wave, the New Wave should be more than adequate.

Actually, at the time I was looking around for a Wave. All differences between the two Leathermen were minor, I thought then, and I was unwilling to pay the premium. Then, I came across a Charge TTi that was priced right, almost what I was willing to pay for a Wave. As I settled in with it, I got to appreciate the really nice S30v PE blade and the SE blade cutting hook, but of all the extra features, what I learned to value most is the Ti handles because of the added hand comfort when using the tool for long periods of time, especially under cold and/or wet conditions.

These things are personal choices, so I'm not sure any advice based on my experience would be helpful. But for me, the Charge has been close to a perfect fit.

Thanks for your help everyone. I went with the charge because I want to try out the cutting hook and it looks like the blade should retain it's edge longer. For IT work, it that cutting hook looks like it might be invaluable. Also, in the off chance my wave is ever returned to me, I wont have duplicates.
