I picked up a Leatherman Wave at a gun show last weekend ($40) and I'm blown away by it. I've got at least 3 gerber multi-tools that I always thought were adequate, but they're nothing compared to the Leatherman.

Very cool tool. I'm peeved I didn't pick up the LM Charge for $75 that was available.

And I've got at least 3 Leathermans, which are nothing compared to my Victorinox. ;)

Srsly, you definitely need to try out a 'nox.

Are you trying to make me go broke? This problem is bad enough w/out new ideas.

Yep, ever since I discovered leatherman I have given up on SAK's, they are damn useful!

Leatherman TTi, is all I'd ever need in a EDC knive.

But It's not cool looking enough, and I like other materials like g-10, and frn.

I Love my Leatherman Charge AL. However I don't carry it every day. I do carry an SAK every day though :)

When you get the cash, the Victorinox Swiss multi-tool is the way to go. I like it a lot better than my Leatherman models.

I am curious now. What makes the Vic the better tool? I have a SOG now and it seems pretty decent.

LOVE THE WAVE!!! it it one of the best EDCs ever! I liked the Og. WAVE better... it was a little slimmer and lighter... I got my dad a Ti one for his Bday... and I think it is a tad on the bulky/ heavy side... since I lost my Og. WAVE, and am currently EDCing (manpurse) my ORIGINAL Leatherman bought in 7th grade (17 yrs. ago) and I'd rather not put it in harms way (even though I do) Ill prolly be getting the Ti/ leather sheath combo ASAP.

I feel the Vic is stronger, smoother, more comfortable in the hand, and offers easier access to tools. If you search the Wilderness & Survival forum, I think you'll find a lot of such comments about it.

I edc a Charge, and feel lost without it. I cannot comment on better multi tools. However, I hear alot of claims of superiority via Victorinox. I will have to check it out when my Charge fails me. I think it may be a long time coming. I was a little bummed when I got rust on the saw, but I cleaned it off. I cut 2" pvc with it almost better than a hand saw. It has saved me many a trip back to the truck, or to the hardware store. Very happy with Leatherman, but excited to hear their may be even better options.

Leathermans are nice and all, but there is no way I could only go with a leatherman. I always need a main blade one me, and the Leatherman will always be a backup blade. However, the other tools are nice.

I always have one on me. A lot of the time it isn't mine, though. I borrow my dads Blast a lot. I don't know why, just like it the most..

How I ever agree with that. I always have my Charge on me, but I keep it in a pouch on my ankle. It is rarely used, but better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it!
I use whatever knife I am carrying a lot more often. The only reason for the tool is the pliers and drivers.

Leatherman tools are great. As it has been stated, I also only use the knife on my Leatherman as a backup knife and carry a separate, dedicated blade. The tools are great, though; just today the vent/A/C/heater knob in my car broke, and I used the pliers to turn the little pin :)
