Leatherneck model numbers

Hi,

I'm interested in getting a Leatherneck SF. In the shop there are 2 models, 39LSFD (discontinued and cheaper, last ones left), and 39LSFC (current model I think). By the descriptions they appear identical, apart from the handle material that is Grivory on the current model and Kraton on the xxxxxD version.
Would anyone be able to detail the differences? I'd like to buy the cheaper model as long as it comes in D2 steel, want to avoid 4116 but am not sure as I have not been able to find a history of Leatherneck series along with model numbers.

Thanks

Welcome

I don’t have either one but from what I see online is the earlier one DLC vs powder coating on the newer model.

I’m not sure about the model numbers, sorry bud. But it does say on the blade what knife steel it is. My Leatherneck SF has German D2 written on it. Is this an online or physical store?

It’s an online store so I haven’t actually seen either.
Pictures look identical to me but they only show one side of the knife and could be a stock picture anyway.
But yeah, could very well be the coating.
I didn’t know the steel type would be shown on the blade, that’ll come handy, thank you.
I think I’ll buy the older model and check what it says on the knife.

Thanks

When in doubt, try to contact the store. Happy hunting mate.
