Damnit! Never do what I just did. I’ve promised time and time again to my customer that I’d have the watchband for him by monday, May 7th. So, as I was dyeing the leather, I picked up a small brush to get into a tight space and dunked it in the dye. Well, little did I know that the brush had been previously dunked in the dark brown dye from the last sheath I made. So, upon the first brush stroke, I realized that it still had dark brown on it and now the watchband is screwed up.
Lessons learned:
1. Dye your leather before you begin to glue and assemble it
2. Never ever use the same brush or applicator for multiple colors of dye
