Leaving feedback I am confused

Please help, I have sold quite a few knives and tomahawks in the fixed blade section.
If someone PMs me and says they will take it there is no thread on the sale page to show they want it. I try to leave feedback and I get error message invalid thread since they never participated in the thread.

So is there no way to leave feedback in this case??

Also I have left positive feedback for all my sells that I could but in the case of the buyer I only have 4 feedbacks. Is this typical??

The feedback system can only be used if both parties post in the ad (in the Exchange). Some people choose not to post in the ad (myself included); and accept that feedback cannot be left or received.
And, yes, typically only a portion of the people will give feedback...even if they receive it for a transaction.
 
As a Knifemaker / Craftsman / Service Provider - Feedback will be useful for additional sales. Easy enough to ask people to say in thread that they "will take it" or otherwise at the least "PM Sent" or the like. You can always ask them to go back after the sale and add a note if you have not locked the exchange thread.

If someone simply chooses NOT to post in your thread, you are out of luck. I think that generally people are co-operative. I've only had 2, maybe 3, people not leave feedback (even after I asked point blank o_O).

thanks guys that is what I thought. Weird thing is the people that are buying sometimes have hundreds of positive feed backs so you would assume they would leave feedback once they received the knife........
 
Not so weird, really. Two factors come into play...a lot of people simply don't leave feedback (even if it is left for them, and they are asked to reciprocate). Also, the system has changed - and people that prefer to keep such things private can no longer utilize it.
