I,ve two peanuts one is a yellow with cv and the other is a mint honey burt bone with the
Ruger shield on it. They are great knives but cannot compare with the warncliffe mini copperhead.

The mini copperhead is small in the pocket but quite a bit stronger the peanut especially when it comes to
whittling in my opinion. I'm going to put the yellow peanut in my first aid kit on my kayak`` and probably just sell the Ruger one. It is a pretty knife but I want mine strong and pretty.

Ironically, I live just down the road from Carl.....hope I don't have to be beaten out of the cult.:o

Mr. Carl will treat you kindly. And after a couple more of his Peanut stories, you might be drawn back into the cult and not even know what happened to you.

No shame in discovering what works best for you. I had a similar experience, but in the opposite direction. I had two mini copperheads, but passed them on down the line to other users. The peanuts see regular use.

I've got a Mini Copperhead, and really enjoy the pattern. Though IMHO I'd be more apt to pursue it if it were offered in CV, and say Chesnut, or Amber bone. I just can't warm up to Tru-Sharp, and it's more than serviceable, when it comes down to it. I just enjoy patinas on some traditional knives. Still a grand minimalist pattern as far as I'm concerned.

I have yet to try a peanut.
I fell in love with the mini copperhead and have yet to be bitten by the peanut bug. I simply love the lines and the feel of the mini.

A cv wharncliffe mini copperhead with ebony scales would be perfect.

I like both quite a bit, and find they work well for what I need. I found a nice stag mini-Copperhead at our local hardware store and couldn't resist at Christmas, it's the older style clip main. Then a few months ago I discovered the Boker 240 (one of the members posted his, can't remember now sorry:o) and I went looking. Found a stag handled version, and found when it arrived that it was very similar to my Case, just a tad bit shorter.

Somehow I think we'll let you hang around. :) The mini copperhead and pretty much like the peanut's brother from another mother.

We'll be sad at your leaving, but it's not like you're jumping ship. You're just going to one of the cult's close cousins, the mini copperhead. So often Ed has posted that pic of his wharnie mini copperhead that I too have felt the urge to defect. It is one beautiful little knife. But the peanut is not for everyone, and we all have to find our own way now and then. Well miss ya, send us a postcard once in a while and let us know how you're doing. And as you're right down the road from me, we ought to meet up and toast your new knife. See how it does slicing a cinnamon roll at Panera. :D

Carl, the forgiving Grand High muckba Of the Cult that may not be for everyone.

This thread needs pics.:D

You know Carl will just send out the leg knife crew to make adjustments........

Aw jeez, I can see it now. Poor piney just sitting down to supper, or to watch some TV, and there's three or four great hammer blows on the door. Looking out, it's the tavern crowd, all with an assortment of shillelaghs and cudgels, led by a ring leader that looks suspiciously like Victor Mclaglen, who ask's "Now laddie, what's all this malarky abut leaving the cult?"

I don't want to know about it.

:D:D

Carl, Grand High Muckba, who know's nothing about any ruffians.

UMMMM......IRA? Tavern blokes? Never mind.....I'm back in!

The cv yellar one in my boat should count ya know. LOL

The Mini Copperhead is a very attractive package. Im particularly fond of the Wharncliffe for EDC. However, the fact that the Mini with Wharnie is only SS, I will have to give the nod to the Nut...or even better...the SBJ!...lol!

Hey Doug....

Sure.... '65 - '69 bought off the "bay" eight or nine months ago..... New old stock. Going back to my Hippie roots...... The year bracket....that's why I bought it.

Perfect across the board. Ya know Doug????? Yes you do..... There are just soooooo many nice knives out there. This one is a keeper.
