I don't have much to say, except that I'm very happy to have gotten this knife.
With a value of around $175, handmade knives like this may start to replace large folders for many people.

The acronym means Every Day Utility, and I made that one up because I'm tired of hearing EDC this, EDC that... In fact, maybe the day is coming when we can call a knife a knife- EDK= Every Day Knife, but I digress.

On to the pictures:

I split my pictures up, partly because I had to. Stay tuned...

I really enjoyed working with Will on this knife. He is a humorous and interesting man, who appears to have an all consuming interest in learning the Art of the Craft.

Thank you, Will. I will likely take this knife with me into the afterlife. I love the Feel of it:thumbup:.

EDK for users - nice idea Lorien!!

All the best,
David Darom (ddd)

remember, ya heard it here first! I expect royalties:rolleyes::D:cool:

Ummm $175???? Did my wife get to the money before I did? :( Or is it worth $175? :p

I'm glad you like your EDU with the Lorien wrap. Try not to low side wearing this because I don't think the handle will handle it. :p

That's a neat little piece. I like the blade shape and the wrapped handle. The braided lanyard is real nice, too.

It's worth $175, compared with other knives I've seen of this type:).

Congrats Lorien.

Good looking little knife and looks to be quite a cutter too.

excellent geometry for cutting, a very fine edge that took that wee batoning with nary a hint of deformation or wear. So far, it's one great knife. I hope you post up some pictures of yours once it arrives:thumbup:

Nice knife! Too bad it's illegal to carry in most states as opposed to a folder. Stupid law.

Chiro, the blade is under 3".... I'm not an expert but I thought that allowed for people to carry it in most places. Well, you can wear it on your belt. :o

Lorien, I'm glad you're happy with your knife so far... If you guys only knew the angst makers go through when we let a knife leave the shop. :barf: :barf: My wife tells me not to worry so much but I remind her that it says W. Leavitt on the knife not K. Leavitt.

I've been messing around, building a good lightbox, trying to follow (:o) Coop's excellent instructions here on Bladeforums, so I have another picture of a knife which I have grown to love more than almost any other knife I've ever owned.

After a couple of weeks of carrying this little knife in my pocket every day, I will attest to its quality and extremely well thought out design. I just sent Will a message saying pretty much the same thing, but I wanted to give an update to the rest of you as well, with the hope that you might consider giving Will your business. Of the knife makers I've dealt with, Will Leavitt has been the most concerned about the performance of his knife and my happiness with his work.

This little knife is razor sharp, and through appropriate design, hardening and grinding, stays that way even through serious use. This is one custom knife that is truly made to be used.

I love it, Leavitt!:D

Glad you are enjoying yours Lorien. I did some substantial cutting this past weekend with mine and am quite impressed with it.

Ya, it sure is a good knife eh.

Nice one! I love the shape and the blade profile and the handle wrap. It looks like it has a really functional tip. It's perfect for every day use. What's the steel? (scratch that, just found the answer in about 5 secs. :))

Great photos and thanks for sharing..

Really good to hear that you and Kev are happy with these. Knives are for cutting, and you gentleman are lucky to find something that works well for you.

Jon, I prefer to describe being lucky as being fortunate:D.
And I just realized how crappy my lightbox is. That additional picture sucks. I ad libbed. I think I'm going to redo my lightbox according to the instructions, thanks Coop:o

Your EDK, Lorien, looks indeed an all around practical little
beauty, but what happens when the wrap cord gets worn out
or a strand is cut accidently?

Also I don't see anything wrong with the picture you took...
It had all the needed digital info to make it look good!

All the best,

I'll rewrap it of course :D Lorien says that hemp is rot resistant, since I agreed to use it as a material then I agree to warrant my work. I really don't think of it as a sale when someone gets one of my knives, I'm letting them adopt them for a fee. :D
