Hi Folks,

I am looking for a new LED flashlight for my EDC carry. I am confused between the wide variety available. Can you guys suggest something sturdy? Has to be below $50 and should use 1 or 2 AAA or AA batteries. It should be bright enough to blind someone momentarily with the flash hence giving me advantage. What should I be looking at?

The Fenix and Quark series are first rate. I EDC a Quark. See 4sevens.com

Fenix, nitecore, olight.....

to disrupt someones vision their eyes must be night adapted and your light should be at least 100 lumens(less will still work but more is better. If its the middle of the day good luck with anything less than 300.

My vote would probably go to fenix on this one because turbo and strobe are quickly accessed with most of their lights.

Thanks guys! I think I will go with Fenix as that seems to be the most popular choice. I like the LD20 but with 6 inches long, I wonder how pocketable it will be? Can the clip be removed?

Its very slim, it should go almost unnoticed in your pocket.

I don't know if you've ever had a Mini-Maglight, but the LD20 is very similar in size to that. The smaller LD10 would be more pocketable, probably, but only holds 1 battery.

The clip can be removed on the LD20+. It's not part of the body or anything.

The LD20/LD20+ is by far the most popular of the 2 x AA lights that I sell, so it's a good choice. The body is very slim, so you should have no problem sliding it in your pocket.

I am looking at Fenix LD10 and the LD20. LD10 for EDC and LD20 camping/car/go bag. As for batteries load them up some rechargeable Eneloops and call it a day.

PS: And a Fenix E01 for my keychain.

The LD20 is very pocketable and you can buy the LD10 body extra and change back and forth between 1 and 2 AA.

Streamlight Stylus Pro is EXTREMELY slim and has a pocket clip. 2 AAAs and very bright and ideal for light edc. Oh and by light just over 1.5oz batteries included. $22 shipped on eBay

They make some interesting lights, but I know the high price turns a lot of people off.
