A man was led in a dream to a room with two doors. He opened one of the doors and looked in. In the middle of the room was a large round table. In the middle of the table was a large pot of stew that smelled delicious and made the man's mouth water. :)

The people sitting around the table were thin and sickly. They appeared to be famished. They were holding spoons with very long handles and each found it possible to reach into the pot of stew and take a spoonful, but because the handles were longer than their arms, they could not get the spoons back into their mouths.

The man shuddered at the sight of their misery and suffering. He went to the next room and opened the door. It was exactly the same as the first one. :D

There was the large round table with the large pot of stew which made the man's mouth water. the people were well-nourished and plump, laughting and talking. the man said alound, " I dont't understand.

" Then a voice sopke, " It is simple, You see, they have learned to feed each other while the greedy think only of themselves."

That works well, unless the pot is full of stew made from pieces cut off from your own body by a socially sanctimonious puppet master, and the spoon you so generously feed others with eventually becomes too heavy for your ever weakening arm to support.

It's at that moment you realize that in reality there were no other spoons in the hands of the other people around the table, and you weren't actually getting fed any of the stew made from your sacrificed body. It was all an illusion, a lie perpetrated by a very smooth talker who hypnotized you into believing in a dysfunctional system.

So when you finally do set down the spoon and seek help for your broken condition, you find out from the puppet master that all that is available to help you is the spoon of the next fat man to come along, get suckered into the charade, and start feeding you from stew made from his own flesh.

Wow I sure am glad I live in New Mexico where we have elk to make stew out of. No wonder all those Tejanos come here to hunt.

We put chile in it and eat it with tortills. We try to stay away from puppet shows while we eat.

Didn't mean to hijack your thread, Terry.

Generosity and self sacrifice are noble things. But when being successful is vilified and punished in the name of "justice", "fairness", and "sacrifice for the good of others", you may, if your hard work has bred success, find yourself holding that spoon and wondering where it all went wrong. These are telling days, and we have to stand up for the free market capitalism and pursuit of individual excellence that has seen this country become the most prosperous place in the world to live. Even our poorest are in the top 20% richest people in the world. Government's role is to foster a marketplace, not run it. Let success run and you will see more jobs, more prosperity, and not just for those that run the business.

Set down your spoons before we're too far gone to change course.

In Terry's last line it is stated , " the greedy think only of themselves " . IMHO this is todays politicians , the facade that they are presenting is a feel good thing to get votes from those who are unwilling to produce . When we are all equal and poor , they will be the fat cats . It is all very interesting , we shall see how it all plays out .
