Hello,
I have an axe that I need to rehang due to a broken handle. After cleaning out the eye, I noticed a ledge on both sides of the eye, that results in the top of the eye being larger than the bottom. I understand that it is common for eyes to be dimensioned that way, but is the ledge shown in the photos common? It certainly would bite into the wood. The axe head is marked with a circle and an "M", with 2 1/4 below the M.
