Is this a/the jobbie from "Chestnut Tools" in Pakenham (nearby Ottawa)? These are not Canadian (nor even n. American)-made but son Robin Lee (Lee Valley Tools founder Leonard Lee died recently) does stand by their sub-contractor's products. And if it isn't outrageous-premium-priced (Lee Valley also does carry 'boutique' German and Swede goodies), and it appeals to you, then go for it.
Actual user feedback about products is something innocent that has sped up and gained universal audiences over the past decade.

As mentioned in the earlier thread, it looks like an Adler. They're generally worth the money and the steel and heat treatment are great but the grinding can sometimes be a hair wonky cosmetically and the hangs are often poor so the handle can be considered something of an extra.

Steve Tall, thanks for the link. i thought there was another thread somewhere about it and you found it.
not a bad price for the head if you had a better handle for it or wanted to make a handle type project.
like i said i was just curious about it.
i have two of the Craftsman hatchets. Sears put them on sale in my area for $10 so i bought two for my grandkids to chop with and prolly lose in the woods.lol
