Leek 1660CKDAM

So, I took a look at a Leek with damascus blade and black handles yesterday. How long have these been available? The knife store owner showed me his, including a Chive and Scallion in the same configuration. He got them from the guy who owns those damascus patterns as a thank-you for suggesting the idea. These weren't FrankenLeeked knives; the model number on the Leek (on the blade and the box) were both 1660CKDAM.

I haven't seen these anywhere before. Input?
 
Are they anodized black or are they the plastic scales? I havent seen them yet...

I might be game for a Scallion. The Chive is a bit small for me, I have meat paws.
 
Anodized; I'd say they look like the titanium-coated greyish color that Boker uses on their M-Type and Direkt models, or Gerber on their Paraframes. They're frame locks.

well, i just got a set of all 4 of the "CKTDAM" series and i have a weird question: why do the 2 larger knives (leek, shallot) have black pocket clips while the 2 smaller knives (chive, scallion) have silver clips?
btw, these all look a zillion times better than the earlier damascus blades from kershaw! very dark etching!
 
According to the KC writeup, the handle of the 1660CKTDAM is not anodized, it is DLC coated:

Handle: 410 stainless-steel tungsten DLC coated

I just bought one :)
 
yep, the handles definitely look great (much cooler than the older silver handles), but i don't understand why the pocket clips on the chive and scallion are silver while the leek and shallot have black clips.

The Chive I still have for sale (model 1600BRCKT) has a black pocket clip, as does the all-black Scallion (model 1620BLK) I still have for sale...

Even the original Aug '07 satin SS 1660DAM I have is a looker/user. A matching Leek/Scallion/Chive set would be great, of course. Hmmm, if a Shallot, why not a Blur??
