Leek 1660DSBLK, scale color variations?

Hi, I have 2 Kershaw Leeks 1660DSBLK with Desert Sand scales. One is darker and kind of golden, the other one is very light colored. Like a pale tan color. All of the DSBLK at the store were also this pale tan color. Was the DS color changed at the factory do they vary that much?

With anodizing, unfortunately there can be fairly significant color differences even within a given batch. Some colors are more challenging than others.
