Hi,
Just received my Leek 1660G10 and AO does not work the way I expected it to work. You need really A to get it to O and lock. Is it because it is new or something is wrong? I tried a few knives (Leeks) at a local shop and they all O with a very little A. Please advise.
Thank you

Does the blade feel stuck, or does it feel like the torsion bar is weak and you're having to manually open the blade? If it feels stuck, then it may be lack of lubrication or the pivot is overtightened. You'll need a T8 Torx driver to adjust the pivot. If the torsion bar doesn't seem to be doing much, it may be broken. If there is little or no detent when you close the blade, it's the torsion bar. All of this should only apply to used knives, though. Is yours new or used? Brand new knives do need a little break-in before they're perfectly smooth, but they still shouldn't be hard to open.

If it's new it " shouldn't " be the torsion bar. Like Martini said, just back the pivot screw out....just a tad bit at a time and see if that frees it up. Leeks are well known to snap open rather quickly. If you have to back the pivot out to much where there is very much at all side to side movement, I'd send it to Kershaw. They have great CS and will hook you right up with one that will snap open like it's suppose to.

a touch of a good lube in the pivot should do the trick, assuming the pivot pin is properly adjusted.

FP-10 or Militec.

Thanks everyone,
It is a brand new knife. It opens to about 10 degrees to the locking position only. If I give a good push to the trigger - it will open and lock. BTW, I tried a drop of tri-flow and it made the matter worse. (Opens very sluggish now). Torsion bar feels fine.
I guess it does need some time to break-in.
Meanwhile I play with the pivot pin.

I just called KAI warranty department and explained my problem - they are sending me a new torsion bar. This is what I call CUSTOMER SERVICE!
Any tricks to replace it?
Thank you

It's really simple. Just watch how you take the knife apart. The torsion bar will only go in one way so you can't screw up. Once you open it, you will see just how simple it is to replace. Just keep a towel on your lap to avoid dropping/losing one of the 3 tiny screws that come out of the scales. Use a small amount of lube when you're putting it back together.....to much will only attract dust and other small particles.

Oh..meant to tell you...when you take it apart, do it with the blade in the open position and take the pivot screw out 1st.
