Anyone seen one yet? Distributor says 'out of stock'.
KS1660DAM Kershaw Leek with Damascus Blade

I'm getting one for an EDC as soon as they get available.
I've always liked the look of damascus blades. Just something
about them. idunno.

We have had a request from a larger distributor for a Leek with a damascus blade. So we will be producing 500 or so pieces of one for them. It will come fitted in the Leek's standard framelock. No images or further spec's to report.

My guess is that delivery will be sometime in July.

When you all find out who will have them, could you let us know?

Now, if it had Titanium frame, and Damascus blade, I would sell my soul for that one.:D

Perhaps Thomas could pass on some sort of link for pre sale before offering to the public?

I am in for one if possible.....

Oh, yea....Thomas and Kershaw are going to piss off a Distributor, and all the distributors' wholesale clients, so BladeForumites can get "dibs"?.

Are you really serious?

That is not the way it works.

how does it work?

The manufacturer has a deal with the distributor to make the knives, and sell them only to the distributor to be DISTRIBUTED to wholesale customers only.

If a manufacturer held some back to sell to retail customers, the distributor would tell said manufacturer to "pack sand", and work on exclusive deals elsewhere, which they would get, and the manufacturer would have to work 3-4 times as hard to sell the same 1,000-2,000 knives.

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

I ment where do we buy them?

I was specifically referring to a link to the distributor that would allow payment up front for one....... I haven't a clue who the distributor is and would like not to miss out on a chance to get one....

You need to lighten up STeven.... This is just a pleasant diversion for most of us.....

Thomas may let you all know who the distributor is when the project is in the "can". The distributor may inform you of a dealer in your area or a web e-tailer at such time.

It my be a pleasant diversion for many of you, but it is a major part of MY life, so there will be no "lightening up" any time in the forseeable future, no0bers.

These Leeks will be an exclusive for Blue Ridge Knives. Hopefully they will be shipping by the end of July. You should be able to find them at most of your regular knife outlets, as BRK's is quite a large outfit.

That's all I have for now.
