anyone have any issues with blade play? mine is a little wiggly any suggestions, buy they way its not that old got it right before the holidays

Have you tried to tighten the pivot screw ever so slightly? That's usually the problem.

ya i tried that and cant really notice it now thanks, but it doesnt open so quickly will this just need to break in again sort of speak

jdr, do you have a torx bit for the pivot? Sounds like yours has gotten out of whack, so to speak. First, was it OK when you first got it, or has this developed over time?

Try resetting the pivot. Tighten it down to where the speedsafe won't fire using the flipper. The blade should only open part way. Then loosen the pivot slowly until the speedsafe takes over and opens the blade the rest of the way. From there, VERY small adjustments to the pivot can be made to suit your personal taste.

As for the spine whack issue, how hard are you hitting it? Its not good to whack any knife on the spine. It will mess up the lock interface. Steve, STR, has said he has gotten many knives for repair, because the owner hit the spine too hard. He has info in his sub-forum on this and I recommend you take a minute and read it.

If all else fails, you can contact Kershaw about sending it in for adjustment.

I have a few of the G-10 Leeks and all were 100% right out of the box, and no problems after use either.

I had one get a little wiggly. It is one I use frequently and have taken apart several times. I told it apart..cleaned it well and put it back together. After it was back together I basically do what SPXTrader said to get it back to my liking.

thanks everyone i think i got it, its kinda tight but doesn't wiggle but opens with just a wii bit more effort. as for the spin whack i wasn't doing it hard at all, there was also some grease like stuff where the liner lock engages with the blade that could have caused it. what about the frame screws how tight should i go on those, and what angle do you recommend touching it up on the sharpmaker? and yes i am a newbie and this is my first kershaw

You certainly started your Kershaw collection with a good one. Kershaw has a lot of great stuff out there and if you stick around here long enough (a day or two) you'll start getting excited about your next Kershaw purchase.

Don't over-tighten the frame screws. I make them snug and then stop. Check the angle on your Leek by using a Sharpie to color the bevel. Run it down the 20 degree and see if you are hitting the edge. If not, try the 15 degree slots.

ya i have been around here for only a little, came here to fig out what one to get and then saw the leek g-10 in a store and had to have it, i absolutely love the g-10 and the way it feels in my hand. another thing to consider was blade length as its only 3 inches where i am. i have only had the knife for about a week now and it has definitely already taken some abuse, mostly from opening all that impossible plastic crap stuff comes in and let me tell you the plastic was no match. i am just waiting for the day kershaw comes out with a leek g-10 with an H-1 blade, now that i think would be one bad ass knife

for some reason the G10 doesnt fire like all the other leeks even with an well adjusted pivot. the S30V feels lighter for some reason.

is your blade well sharpened?

i prefer the Skyline over the G10 Leek now that i got one, much better priced too.
