Leek I can't find online?

Hello,

I recently purchased a Leek 1660T, but can't find much out about this knife specifically online - I do love it though.

It's a straight edge, reverse tanto with a manufacturing date of 8/2007. The model stamped on it is just "1660T"

I haven't been able to find any other like it. I can find reverse tanto blades, but they're all partially serrated.

Can anyone point me to any info on this particular little knife?

Here's a quick cell-phone pic (pardon the bad lighting).

Thanks!

It is a tanto leek. I don't think it's really called "Random" because the Random is partially serrated and the blade is S30V (plus the coating). I just recently bought the exact same knife off the bay (same born-on date too). It was a short run - only 500 or so were made. Thomas will know the exact number, however. The handle is 410 and the blade is 13C26. A very nice knife. I prefer it over the Random Leek because I don't care for serrations or the Chromium Nitride coating.

Thanks for all the help! I figured it was a little unique when I couldn't find another one like it anywhere online. It's my first Kershaw and I really like it. I'm going to have to get some more! :D

You picked a great one to start with. The Leek is definitely one of the most popular Speedsafe Kershaws. I was very excited when they released this version. I had been waiting for that exact design since the introduction of Leek years ago. Also, that 13C26 is incredible. It never ceases to impress me.

I think my next acquisition will have to be one with the damascus steel blade simply because I love the way they look.

However I don't know much about damascus steel - how does it compare to the Sandvik 13C26 steel?

I still have a lot to learn about knives.
