I've noticed a couple posts with Leek pictures,, it looks like some remove the rear blade lock..Has anyone had their Leek accidently open without the lock engaged?

I carried a leak for a while, until it slipped from my pocket somewhere on a mountain top. Took that silly piece of black plastic off the day I got it, never had it open when I didn't want it too.

Mine has never opened in pocket but I honestly haven't carried it that much. I have two safeties getting ready to be pulled right now.

I have not removed the safety, but then again never had a blade open in my pocket. The speedsafe system is good stuff. The carry position (right front pocket) also keeps the blade safely tucked into the handles, because it is up against the seam.

As much as the safety might not be used, I like it there for when I want to throw it in a bag of something.

Normally I second guess car manufacturers and take stuff of to lighten my cars but the safety lock here doesn't remove much weight and just sits there. You can tighten the screw to leave it on and keep it open.

To me it's one of those things that even if I dont use it much, I'm glad it's there.

I yanked the lock the second day I owned it. EDC'd the leek for several months. Never had it (or any of my knives) open in my pocket.

Sounds like with your carry method, you shouldn't have any issue, unless you swapped the clip for tip down. If you did, switch it back or you may get poked.

I lost a knife once that way, since then I carry in the RFP. Finedges has the right idea here. Be careful and you should have no problems.

Been carrying a Leek for a while and the only time it opened on me was when I dropped it on a concrete floor. Must have hit it just right because I couldn't get it to do it again.
