Any advice on how to get the back side to stop spinning? As I try to turn the pivot it just spins on both sides rather than actually loosening. I'm sure some of you know exactly what I'm talking about.

Because the knife has been used by a friend of mine for 3 years wihout being cleaned once, it is need of a cleaning. It's utterly disgusting and refuses to open without a wrist flick because it's so gummed up wih pocket garbage from the past few years.
The rubber band didn't work.
Get a dish towel. Fold it several times and place on the edge of a counter or table. Open the knife.Press the blade down into the towel and apply some pressure. While holding the knife down, turn the pivot screw.
Doing this will create enough of a bind on the pivot so it will not spin. This is the easy way, and you don't have to worry about stripping clip screws. It always works.
This works 99% of the time.
One time I had a pivot so bad, it broke both of my T-8 sets... someone must've really had a bad day and vented on the pivot... I had to cut a slot into that one.
