i was tooling around with my Kershaw Leek in hopes of cleaning it last night, and to my dismay, found that the Pivot screw could not be loosened. ill put up some pictures as soon as i can find my camera, but until then heres teh deal.

the pivot screw is a flat metal disk on one side and a TORX screw on the other, when i try to turn the torx screw the disk on the other side just spins free. any ideas?

Cheers!

The quick fix would be to cut a small piece of duct tape to cover the pivot disc.Put the clip back on and snug it down but don't over tighten it.The pivot screw should come out.Hope this helps.

Open the blade and put a bind on the pivot with lateral pressure (sideways pressure) by laying the blade flat on a table top and binding it by pushing down on the body of the knife while turning the pivot screw at the same time. That should hold it still when you bind the barrel with the blade so the loctite gives free so you can back out the screw. Just be careful you don't slip and cut yourself. If you feel the risk is high for that kind of accident tape off the blades cutting edge first withe some duct tape.

This works well, but as STR said, don't slip and cut yourself. For that reason I fold a kitchen towel several times and place it on the edge of the table or counter top. Push edge down into the towel to create the bind. It doesn't take much pressure. You may end up with a few little towels, but you won't cut yourself!
