Leek Tips

I recently bought a Leek and am obsessed with this thing. I sit there, mindlessly using the flipper to open and close it. Before I had this knife I used a Benchmade mini ambush( which now feels fat in my hand and awkward to flip)and it had tip up carry and said I preferred it. Now that I have the Leek I can draw faster with tip down. I love the fact that I don't have to worry wether or not it will open completely, because it always does.
Now on to the real question. This knife is strong and a razor sharp knife. The tip, however, looks fragile. I was wondering how strong it really is, and how much abuse it can take( though, I admit, I baby my knives:))?

Yup, just use the knife the way a knife is intended to be used. Do not throw the knife, do not use the knife to stab hard surfaces, and not use your knife as a pry tool.

I have a few Leeks, the g-10 is one of my favorites. Use the knife inside the parameters of its construction and you'll be fine. I have bent the tip on one, Kershaw fixed me up quick. imho they are a tad fragile, just be aware of this and you'll have no problems.
If you want to pry get the Random Leek, and still don't do it!

Seriously.

The right tool for the right job, and all that.

I have a rainbow Leek and its the best knife I have ever had. The first one I had someone stole but so far it has been great knife.

Don't pry with and don't be unlucky like my roommate. He dropped it on asphalt and put a slight bend in the tip, it wasn't enough to effect the opening and closing of the blade.

I love my leek, it's a knife that's just fun to have.

Welcome Brian.

Glad you found bladeforums.

We chatted at the counter when you sold me the OD-1 Wednesday.
