Hey, guys. I just picked up a Leek (1660, plain stainless steel handle) on a whim, and I gotta say I'm very pleasantly surprised. They've never really interested me, but then again I had never handled one, either. Solid, "clean" little knife. But what's not so solid is the tip. I've already envisioned many scenarios where that wimpy little tip snaps off, rockets through the air, straight into my eyeball. While I am exaggerating, I am definitely skeptical of its longevity.
QUESTION: Whose Leek tips have snapped and under what circumstances? I also wouldn't mind hearing some success stories of blades remaining intact for years and years and years.
