left hand liner locks?

I got a new Soldier Swiss Army Knife a few days ago.

I also picked up another one that has a liner lock. I forget the name of it: single blade, plastic handle, tooth-pick, tweezers, nail-nick on the blade, liner lock.

Did anyone notice that the liner locks seem to be made for the left hand?

When I open the blade with the knife in my right hand I have to push the linker lock TOWARD my palm to unlock it. This seems backwards given my experience with other knives and since I am right handed.

Are they made with a particular hand in mind?

Its not a big deal. I like the knives. I am just wondering.

Yep:) they're all like that for some reason. You get used to it though. I operate the lock on my Fireman without thinking.

Note that it is one piece of steel that locks both the blade and the bottle opener. When opening the blade, the liner lock goes to left on that side, and when opening the bottle opener, the liner lock goes to right on that side.

Ha, ha! Now you know how it is for us left-handers with all those right handed liner locks out there! :D

The only reason I own a OHT is because it has a lefty liner lock and is under $30.

Except it's not really a lefty cause the clip is on the wrong side :(

I had (I still miss it but the Atlantic won't return it) a true factory left handed Kershaw Random Task (1510L) that was my EDC for almost 10 years. I've never seen another like it, the closest being the Benchmade Griptilian which is truly ambidextrous.

I'm using a OH PE Sentinel now but I'm not thrilled with it.
