Does anyone know if Spyderco is going to offer the Military in a lefty model? I prefer to carry two of the same knife, one for each hand. Also, do they plan to coat the blade in a black finish?

I'd also love to see ambidextrous versions of the G-10 Police and Civilian. All it'd take is three little holes in the opposite scale... That would turn those already excellent folders into perfect ones, IMHO - and not just for lefties, either.

Leo,
You're right, not just for lefties. I'm right handed but want a left handed version because I usually end up holding something that I need to cut in my right hand and can't let go or switch hands, so I end up twisting to get to my knife in my right pocket.

And that's not even an emergency situation, such as a rescue or self-defense...
I just can't see why those great knifes can't leave the factory with that little bit of improvement. The advantages are obvious, IMHO.

I just asked Sal this same Q a couple of weeks ago and the answer was a negatory.
They are having a hard time keeping up with demand for the regular RH versions methinks.

In most cases, maiking a LH version is an additional run. More involved than just drilling and tapping a few holes.

In the case of G10, we prefer to drill into a steel liner for strength. Adding an "extra" liner adds weight that may not be desirable. I'd rather make a left had version. In the case of a Linerlock, it is separate run. When we're caught up a little on our current models, we'll get more into lefties on the higher end pieces.

That's great news, Sal!
It would be interesting to see left handed versions of the G-10 Police, the Civilian and the Starmate, besides the already mentioned Military.
And let's not forget to commend you for offering the ambidextrous Zytel folders, such as the Endura, the Delica and others. I do appreciate it.
