Got my new left-handed Military in today from Spyderco. I order direct because of their military discount. I only mention this to state that this knife is not a clone or copy. I saw this knife on the Apostle Paul’s YouTube site earlier and noticed mine was different. Larger lanyard hole, no aluminum back spacer, torx head screws on both sides of the pivot pin, larger torx screws for the frame, stop bar is pinned (not torx). I’d post pics but the ones on Blade HQ are identical. I thought Military models were un-modded except for the left-handed of course. I know there are no Military 2’s so is this a model 1.1? Sorry if this was discussed before. I did a search on left-handed Military and didn’t see anything.

I hate to see the Military change in any way. However some minor changes are being called CQI. Constant Quality Improvement. Blah! I don't see the improvement!
There are ignorant children who think blade tip up is an improvement.

Yep, it's what they call the CQI version. The good news is, aside from the Holland Tunnel lanyard tube and the reduction in edge protection from pocket change from the loss of spacer, it works as well as the older version.

I have both left hand Militaries, one from the initial run a fews years back and one from the current batch. As others noted, the current model just received the same "cqi" improvements that the standard model got over time.

I'm not sure where the tip-up rant above came from, there were no changes to the clip on the Military that I'm aware of.

Some of the changes were good improvements. For me, the addition of standoffs, while making the flow through better for cleaning, would seem to make the knife more uncomfortable while using it hard. I cannot say for certain as I have not tested it. All the improvements except the standoffs are positives in my book.

I always like to hear from a fellow lefty Spyderco fan. I've got one of the sprint Military lefties and one of the current production. I dig the new one a bit more because of its dual headed pivot screws and larger lanyard hole. Mine also feels like it operates smoother and I like to think it's due to the improved stop pin, but what do I know, I'm gauche and sinister.
