Hi guys. I owned a small sebenza but it didn't see much pocket time. I'm currently lusting after mnandis but I'm not seeing them available at my usual retailers - are they typically that much tougher to find? I even emailed my favorite seller who wrote back to say that they had never had lefty mnandis in stock and had no plans to order them.

Also any lefty Mnandi owners wanna throw a pic or two in here I always wanna see those!

They are out there. You do know you can swap the clip from the right to left side right? If you get a model with an old nail nick (pre-2012) you should be able to open a right handed model left handed. Its a time bit harder since the lock comes up higher then the other side, but I have no problems opening my right hand model left handed any time I want. If you end up with a current model its more of a two handed knife no matter what. The lock being on one side or another is not an issue in any case to unlock with either hand. I know of a dealer that carries the left handed models or you could order direct from CRK. PM me if you want the website link.

My two Mnandi's are both right handed so can't share a lefty picture.

The Mnandi does seem to be a pretty ambi-friendly blade, but it's so hard to find production companies that even bother to make lefty-oriented knives that I want to support them when I do! I personally hate unlocking frame and liner locks from the opposite side. The hand motion makes me feel like I'm gonna lose my grip on the knife.

Thanks for the info!

I dont know if they are a dealer here so I dont want to mention them in public, but theres a dealer that has at least 12-15 LH Mnandis in stock, I was just on their site.

Maybe it's just what I am used to but I like unlocking right hand frame locks better with my left hand then left hand models. Its just easier to pull with my thumb then push away to unlock, but I am a right handed that just likes to carry on my left side.

Thanks for the tips guys! Hopefully some funds free up soon (got a Spyderco listing in the exchange btw if anyone is shopping). Love your guys pics and hope I can add some of my own!

You need to look at the Mnandi obsession thread.... That will give you Mnandi fever

If there were synthetic adorned Mnandis Id have to have one

(Please dont tell me that Chris hand forged 3 Carbon Fiber left handed Mnandis and they were sent to the far corners of the world to keep their powers apart and they are just waiting for someone to unearth them)
