Are there any plans on releasing a left handed Para-Military2 in the future? I know there has been a left handed release of the Military before, even though I'm not sure about the Para1.

I have a right handed Para2 now and I have no problems whatsoever of closing it with my left hand, but I've found that it's a little easier to Axis-open and close the knife with my right hand, which is kinda fun to do sometimes :). It's also just nice to have a version of the knife, which has been specially made for the hand you use.

The standard Compression Lock is lefty friendly to many lefties. One lefty, a Bram Frank guy, asked Sal to make his Gunting knife with a special right-handed Compression Lock for exactly that reason.

I've found opening and closing the blade with a thumb against the Compression Lock depends more on the pocketclip than the side of the lock. I can 'axis' open an ATR, but not a Superhawk. Haven't tried with the Para2, yet despite carrying it daily.

The compression lock on the Para 2 is very lefty friendly. I mulled this over for a few months before I pulled the trigger and got one. I actually started a thread on it here ---> http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=755599

Get it. You won't regret it. It's been my EDC since I got it.

Some people need to learn to read thread topics properly :).

I love the Para2 and I will probably get several copies of it in addition to the one I already have, when they become available. It would however be really nice to have a left handed one.

Even the mighty and mighty popular Military got only limited production in the LH version. I doubt we'll see a LH Para 2. I am not one of the "many lefties" Thom mentions who find the CL lefty-friendly. It is better, faster and safer in my right hand, which is a pretty sad comment. :) I know many lefties can make it work, but I have not gotten the knack.

yeah i cant operate the compression lock on my para 2 with my left hand nearly as easily as with my right hand. i would love a lefty para 2. i'd buy a few of them. anyone have a video of themselves using their left hand?

I'll try to put one up tomorrow.

I suck at videos, but maybe I can describe how I do it.

For the 'axis' style opening and closings, I actually 'scissor' the handle in my last 3 fingers - middle finger over, ring finger under, and pinkie finger over. This frees up my index finger and thumb to manipulate the lock tab. Have found this to be the most secure grip when using any inertia. A bit of finger gymnastics, but at least it keeps 'em nimble!

An added plus for the RH comp lock is that I can closed it much easier in *reverse* grip with my left hand, compared ti my right. Same for the right handed linerlock

Yeah, here's one:

It's really no big deal, I guess the biggest reason the MILLIE came in a left handed version, was because it didn't have the option of putting the pocket clip on the left side of the knife. The Para2 does have that however, so releasing a left handed version isn't quite as important.

that and the fact that a linerlock is a lot more ankward to use with the wrong hand. there isn't as much clearance on the opposite side and accesing the spine is quite easier ...

that being said i'm right handed but eat with the knife in the left hand, i have zero problem with any right handed knives milie included. in this case i just disengage the lock with my middle finger and close the blade with my pointer finger. (not sure for finger names but i think you get me :D)

thanks for posting the video. i cant seem to do that. the right hand is so effortless. as for liner locks, those are cake with the left hand. this para 2 is too small for me to do it, i need a lefty version. haha

Yeah, here's one:

Yeah, I find no problems whatsoever to close a liner lock with my left hand neither, no matter which method I use. I've never understood people who have a problem with that.

Concerning the Para2, it's very easy once you know how to do it.
It's a little hard to explain, but you need to brace the knuckle of your index finger on the left side of the handle to get the space to disengage it with your thumb.
