I am really excited about this one - I tried something new - and it really turned out.
I had this awesome looking hiking buddy to work with:
With the white - and the liner - it just looked so... classic - so old school - that I wanted a neutral sheath for it.
However, I didn't want to leave it there - Andy's knife needed more than that. So - I used a red dye for the welt and then burnished it.
I then set it out in the sun to tan some - added two coats of Montana Pitch Blend inside and out for protection in the woods let it dry.
The picture above doesn't really pull out the red. It is a deep red with brown burnish over it. Hopefully the end user will get better pics of it than I did.
I took this photo to show the color of this beauty.
