Hello guys,I need a little help looking for a assisted opener.Im a lefty and like carrying tip up on my left side.Blade size should be around 2.5-3.5 inches.Plain edge if possible.Does this knife exist ? Thanks in advance.SGT.

I'm also a lefty and I was looking for a similar knife for a while and didn't find anything that worked for me. The closest thing that I found was the Benchmade Grip 551. The clip can be moved for either left or right side carry and there is a thumb stud on both sides of the blade. Plus, with the axis lock it's early as fast as an auto opener. The full size has a 3.4 inch blade and the mini-grip is a bit smaller, but I forget the exact size.

Southpaw here also, I had a Ken Onion Scallion that was NOT reversible for the pocket clip. I agree with Dune, the Benchmade's are as close as you can get, and It took less effort to open them to me, than it did to start the Ken Onion out for the assisted opening to kick in.

The discontinued Kershaw Random Task was also produced in a "lefty" version. Try Google(ing) it.

SOG Flash II.

Reversible low-ride clip, ambi thumbstuds, lock is easy to operate with the index finger.

My EDC right now, though that may change soon. :D

The Kershaw/Strider collaboration is supposed to fit the bill here. The clip can be moved so you can carry left or right, tip up or tip down.

im also a lefty. i just make life easier on myself and learned to safetly control a blade wtih my right hand.

i say stop being different, and just ride your blade in your right pocket and use it with your right hand.
it opens up so much more options, as to which knives you can own.

but if you must, locking mechinisms really arent that hard to disengage with left hands. so if you absolutely must have a left pocket ride, get one and just deal with the lock.

my son is a lefty and there is a Meyerco called the speedster sr it is a AO and opens easy lefty.....they are on sale at SMKW ( eknifeworks.com) for $7

there is also a guy RMG knives on blade auction that sells lefty autos on Bladeauction.com

Oh, by the way I forgot to mention the SOG Twitch.... I own and use one a lot. It is fully ambidextrous: thumbstud, lock, reversible clip, flipper "kick" for assited opening and.... tip up carry!!!

Thanks for all the info.I just got done checking out the Sog Flash and Twitch on line.I think Im leaning toward the Twitch. Now to find a store where I can handle them. Thanks again.

I don't know how much you want to spend, but I just bought a Combat Elite RRF, Assisted Opener. Its got both a flipper and thumbs studs on both sides, so its perfect for a lefty. Blade length is 3.375 inches. Mine is a plain edge.

I have a Flash II and a Twitch XL...the Flash feels much more solid to me. The Twitch has more of a "cheap knife" feel. Plus when I got them both the Flash opened perfectly the first time. The Twitch needed oiling and adjustment to open well, and I still can't really open it with the thumbstuds. See my thread in the SOG forum...
