Have there or will there by any LEFTY made AR's or GB folders?

Thanks - Boink

I asked that same question some time ago.The answer is yes but they wanted $100.00 more for a lefty model so I decided screw it and bought Benchmades Axis-locks instead,a move I don't regret.

Boink, have you ever tried an AR? Mine has "ambi thumb studs" and is VERY easy to open left handed. My wife has a Benchmade Mel Pardue 720BT that she carries daily. My AR is even easier to open left handed than hers is.

Boink,

I am left-handed and I purchased an AR with only the right-handed stud.

I immediately sent it to Strider and had the dual thumb studs put on it. It opens and closes very easily left-handed. The handle is cut on both sides deep enough and the studs are large enough to easily get a good purchase on the stud to open it easily.

I am a big proponent of lefty knives and I don't understand how makers can tunr their back on 15% of their market, but I have to make due. The Strider folders are very lefty friendly!:)

For the same reason Gun manufacturers do.
It isn’t worth the tooling. Your only going to sell to 5% of that 15% of the market.
In the time I can tool up to make 100 lefties. I could make 1000 regular.
I could sell the 1000 regular knives tomorrow, but the 100 lefties would take a few months.

We want to do the lefties, and will. But you can understand that business has to come before helping out the wrong handed folks.

Be patient, or become ambidextrous…:D

How about taking pre-orders on a list, and then doing a run? I'm pretty patient, especially when there's light at the end of the tunnel.

btw - I'm ambi and have some lefty and mostly righty knives. Found out that there are certain righty designs on the market that are downright uncomfortable or dangerous to use in lefty.

Of the righties I can open lefty, it'd be better if the clip was positioned where I need it to be. I use the righties as weak hand backup and can open them inertially. Ones with flippers are freakin' fast - faster than some auto's I own, because you need to find the button on the sides with the autos.

Good to hear from forum members that the cut on both sides of the Strider folders have good access both sides. I love that the stud is isolated and especially love the big choil area, for me - in the event of thumb-slippage, which has caused me a few nasty cuts, even on knives I've quick-opened countless times.

I agree with L.O. Little.

I had ambi thumbstuds put on my AR and have no problem opening with either hand. I alternate between the AR and an SA as my EDC.

Don't think you would regret getting an AR.

Wish I could get one with double studs from the start. Just when a new AR arrives, it must be a bitch to send it out for the reworking.

Hey - look what Jimi Hendrix did with a righty guitar!
