I'm curious as to why Emerson does'nt make more lefty models, anyone know or have any info? I believe the only model I've seen in a true lefty was a 7.

I'm not able to answer the "why" part of your question but unless I'm mistaken you can also get the Commander in a true left hand version.

Lefthanded people are 12 percent of the population. Be happy you can buy a CQC-7 & Commander. Some companies make ZERO LEFTHANDED MODELS!

Sad but it true, I can count on the fingers of one hand the number of knifemakers who produce lefty models with liner/frame lock. What`s more sad, a lot of really good knives don't have even possibility of left pocket carry option, which is more critical for me. Especially when we're talking about the tactical use of the knife.
My Emerson knives are right hand with lefty pocket clip and its quite comfortable.

Thanks I didn't know that, I'll have to check that out.

I believe that and it has me thinking about a fixed blade option also.

I do have a true lefty black seven but it's too small for me. I would like an eight or or ten in a true lefty or a super in one of those two models. What I need a is a good compound ground kwaiken with about a 4" blade.

Why spend money catering to a minority in inventory that will only sit on shelve collecting dust? When right handed people are over 85 percent of the market.

I would also think maybe a right hand person might want to carry their knife weak side while having a sidearm on their strong side. I'm a lefty and I've always felt more comfortable and better armed with being able to draw a weapon from either hand if need be at any time if the need arose. I do have a true emerson lefty 7 but it's too small for my needs. I had a custom 8 and like a fool parted with it. I'd love to have another some day. I also had a pimped 10 from some years back. I'll see if I can find a pic of it, I believe it was a special Emerson HK edition model 10. Oh! I didn't ask how many righty's there were, I asked where's all the lefty Emersons. :D

Here you go you can see the 10 in this pic. That was a slick knife and pimp job. Check out the back spacer on this 10. Lets see who can guess who the knife pimp was on this one. I guess I'm getting a little off track in this thread here but... Oh well I guess I started it huh at any rate I lost the knife to the Mississippi River Gods I guess in about 40" of muddy and really swift water behind some barges throwing a cast net.
Yes I guess the clip caught the net as it came around me and in she went. I didn't know it until I went to show my fishing buddy for the first time. I was sick for quite some time over that knife. I sure miss that piece.

I do everything Left Handed, my strong side. Except shoot rifles, and shotguns. Why right handed I do not know, started doing those things as a kid, but that is the only things I do wrong handed, for me is right is my wrong handed side.

You can order them drilled for left hand straight from their website, as far as I know.

Dude!! That is a sick blade man! Wow, that is a real bummer that you lost it. I have no idea who the pimp is, but he sure does nice work; pretty soon I'm going to have to restart my milling machine and try to do this kind of thing, love it!

I forgot, the backspacer reminds me of the backstrap of a Dan Wesson 1911 I used to have, very cool.

Thanks, I believe Sal Manaro was the pimper on this one. Check out his work and you'll see this type of backspacer on a few of his folders. I surely miss it. :(
