Hi Folks - OK, I'm a lefty, but like most of us have learned to do much right handed. There's a good chance, though, that I will lose the use of my right hand completely for 4-6 weeks due to surgery for carpal tunnel syndrome.

Any suggestions for good knives for total lefties? I have a Benchmade 710, and am looking at a Griptilian or 730, but want other suggestions. If the cortisone shot doesn't work, and I need the surgery, it is about 3 weeks away.

What do you suggest?

First you will not lose the use of your right hand. Refuse to resign yourself to this way of thinking..I have a Cuda 1 and though it is not a true lefty knife it works in my L/hand like magic. Being a lefty
makes you very adaptable to anything..Best wihes to you!!

I'd say go for a Spyderco Endura--it's sharp, easily opened and closed by either hand and the pocket clip is switchable. Best of all, when you recover, you can always switch the pocket-clip back over for right-handed carry.

If you can locate one the Kershaw Random Task and Mini Task were both made in left hand models. They both have speed assist which makes them real fast to open.Originally priced around $170 retail you can usually pick one up for around $50 on ebay where I recently got one of each.I know for a fact that there is a lefty Mini Task on ebay at this very moment.Best of luck with your hand.
