Just borrowed the Dremel from work and converted my newly acquired Shabaria to a lefty! Well, not a true lefty (clip still in the same place) but at least I can carry and use it now. Am very pleased with myself, not only for doing it, but for doing a great job of it.

In fact, with both scales the same its even more comfortable than before!
So happy I had to post

Ferret - Congrats. A "southpaw" from "down under". Wonder if there is a connection? Sounds like the name of a movie.

Just thinking about a left hand Micarta Calypso Jr I have. Maybe we can negotiate a "deal". Just to keep Clay interested?

Why would I be interested? I mean it's not as though he hasn't already got every knife I ever wanted

. Blimey he's got the whole bloomin' Spyderco Cattledog. And to make matters worse he insists on showing them to me and expects me to act as though I really enjoy the experience. At least I used to take solace in the fact that even if he had all those knives he couldn't actually use them because they were all right-handed. Now you want to take even that pleasure away by helping him get a left-handed knife. It's all just too much, I think I'll start collecting chewing gum wrappers.

Don't worry that the world might end tomorrow....in Australia it's tomorrow already.

Congrats, Ferret! I've always thought that the Shabaria would be a knife strongly served by the "lefty cutdown".

Sal, a lefty Cal jr has piqued my interest (just the thing to help trim my collection of chewing gum wrappers

) but I must exercise restraint, and the Calypso is one of the many leftfriendly designs you produce.
Brian, symmetrical scales on the Shabaria make the whole thing more comfy to hold and is well worth the effort
