Okay,

What's the story with the 167V on the lefty Military?

I understand it is a collector's mark but what are the specifics? How many were made? Should it have any bearing on the usability of the knives? or should I be using it? etc.

Are there plans to release more models of the Military in the lefty variant? S90V, M4, Ti, etc.?

Thank you.

All I know is that it's a collector number, sorry I can't help you with that.:o As for lefties in other other variants(although lefties are a variant) it's up to Sal.....come on Sal;)

How many LH Militarys made or how many with Collectors Club numbers? I believe Sal said there would be 600 total made. How many were numbered would depend on how many "all variant" members of the Collectors Club, including dealers who held one or more memberships for resale, there were at that time. My "guess" would be around 60, but that's only a guess. The club is limited to 200 members, maximum, but all the slots have never been filled. Only some of those which are filled were signed up for all variants and those numbers were scattered throughout the 000 to 199 number range, so the fact that yours is numbered 167 does not imply there were at least 166 other numbered ones.

Can't see why the number would have any impact on usability, it's just a couple small marks on the blade. Does have one potential benefit, it makes the knife easy to ID.

The bottom line is should it be kept in the safe for collection reasons (value, limited number, etc.) and then buy another for daily use?

If you want.

Personally I don't attribute any additional "collectors" value to CC numbered Spyderco's. Some people do, others don't.

I also don't attribute any additional value to CC numbered Spyderco unless it is a large group with the same number.Even then the increase would be minimal.
