Been reading the various threads, and been seeing a lot of lefties out there. I just got a small Sebenza 21, but not a left handed model (I am a lefty). I carry it in my right pocket, and feel most comfortable opening it with only my right hand. Same for even my Axis locks. Not sure why, but I was taught to golf at an early age, and thus can't even bat left handed either. May have something to do with it. I do every else left handed. Are there any lefties like me out there, or am I just a freak of nature?

Edit - Thought I should clarify - I open with my right, but then use / cut with my left (Serious cutting, and or jobs).

I carry my knives in my front left pocket and my CRK knives are all lefty. I do however bat right handed, play guitar right handed but I throw left handed. Just the way I've always done things.

I do everything right handed except for the 2 years I played hockey. Cant even try to use a right handed hockey stick. And when I had to I would just use it left handed anyway. When using silverware I eat with my right hand, but if its any kind of food that gets picked up like a sandwich or pizza it's the left hand. It's really weird but I practically can not eat with my right hand.

My Sebenza Large 21 is a lefty, bought it that way on purpose.
But I open knives with both hands (do all my cutting left handed).
I play kung fu, with lots of weapons, and the swords, sabres, knives, etc. are all used right handed, so that has helped to force me to become more ambi.
I think this is the case for most lefties, you have to learn to adapt to the right handed world.
The last couple of sheaths I ordered right handed, because I don't want to have any trouble selling them along with the knives if I ever decide to let one go.
I figure a left Sebenza won't be too hard to find a buyer for.
This is one reason, I like knives with ambi thumbstuds.

I'm so jealous, my brain has only given me my right hand. Would love to use both, it comes in very handy sometimes.

Lefty here as well. Like most leftys I am ambidextrous with just a couple of exceptions. BTW I shoot right handed and am right eye dominate. I can work a knife just fine with my right hand if need be but I prefer to carry in my left front pocket and will only buy knives that are left handed. Hence the large selection of CRK knives in my collection.

Yeah, I shoot rifles right handed, too.
My right eye is stronger.
Plus, unless you have a left handed chamber on your AR, you end up breathing burnt powder every shot.

I used to do that with my knives that weren't lefty friendly. Kershaw leek, oso Sweet...etc. I would open the knife righty and then hand off to my left hand. Do my cutting task and then switch back to my right hand. I was actually kinda nice since i carry my cell phone in my left pocket. My left pocket is now usually packed with a knife and that makes acquiring my celly a little tough sometimes. I love that more companies...especially the high quality ones (spyderco and benchmade).....are making all their production knives ambidextrous. Well, not all of them, but most of them are decent. I just picked up a lefty CRK and trust me getting lefty is nice.

I know from personal experience that I have nearly pinned my foot to the ground with my knife by switching hands and not paying strict attention. Eventually switching hands will get you in trouble and you will drop your blade.. I suggest sell it off and get a lefty model.

just my input.

For years, I carried righty and cut lefty because that seemed to be the only real option.

After I got my Lefty Sebenza, I actually had a real problem with relearning the process. I'd pat my right pocket, find NO knife, and then have to remember to try the left pocket and open with the left hand.

Now there are so many left-handed options that I'm finding it hard to choose some mornings which one to carry.

I have a left-handed knife of some sort in my left pocket and a Victorinox Pioneer in my right pocket for those times where cutting is needed an a locking knife may be frowned upon.
