There was a comment made in another thread that perhaps a Lefty Sebenza had a much lower collectors value than a righty. I'm curious as to what extent you guys and gals think the value is affected .... Righty versus lefty. Also what percentage of Sebenza production is Lefty VS Righty. Seems like 7-10% is the lefty population , and if CRK production is in that range why would they be worth less? Thanks, Bart

I don't think there is a difference in collectors value for the lefty sebenzas and the right handed ones. They are for collection and not for usage anyway.

Also, I think the left handed ones are actually more rare than the right handed because there are not too many of them produced... [emoji16]

It could be for knifes people are planing to use they may have less value if there are more buyers looking for right hand models then lefty. That said people that are left handed are going to be much more interested since they are harder to get. So it may all wash out.

They basically have the same value, they are just attractive to a smaller market. Depending on how fast the seller wants to part ways with it he may have to lower the price more to get it sold. The older and/or more rare ones can actually demand a premium over the rightys.

I saw that and disagreed with it at the time and still do. What I think may be true is that, depending on luck and timing, LH Sebenzas may or may not sell a little more slowly than RH Sebenzas. While only a small part of the population wants a LH knife, CRK production seems to be well under relative demand.

I should also point out that there is a portion of the RH user population that seeks LH knives, including Sebenzas, for genuine tactical use, because there are a variety of scenarios in which you would use a knife in your non-dominant hand.

In my beginners level searching for leftys I have not noticed a significant pricing valuation difference between LH and RH knives, only a significant lack of secondary market inventory, this difference does not seem directly proportional to my perceived RH vs LH production/new knife inventory in relation to plain janes at least.

Damascus and UG/CGG are difficult to source period. I've been looking to the Starbenza as the only "graphic" left hander readily available. And when you consider the Starbenza is actually a dual sides graphic it becomes a great value...even though the leftie costs more. My amateur $.02

I really appreciate the input on this. I wonder if CRK would be forth comming on relative production percentage of righty VS Lefty? I am a righty who uses a strong side carry for my .45 and bought a lefty Sebby for my weak side carry.... now to see if I can handle it on a day to day basis!!???

You really should not have issue with it. Its just a small adjustment. I normally weak side carry my knives and am adjusting to strong side CRK's. I have been putting one on each side and its not much different. I still go weak side out of habit, only thing is with a lefty sebenza if I forget to open it before handing off to my right hand I have to pass it back. This is just because my lefty does not have dual studs. My right hand Inkosi I can open with ether hand its just slightly harder left handed since I have to rotate the blade a little before my left thumb has clearance to finish the job.
