Hello Everyone,

I will be going on my firts curise to the Bahamas, and I was wondering if anyone new the legal blade lenght on a ship. I will be in the bahamas do they have a blade length law there as well. I would like to carry my Emerson cqc-7A, or my Commander. I would not like to think that I could not carry any type of knife. I would feel almost naked with out a knife cliped to my side. Any help would greatly be appricated. Semper Fi

You need a mini-7 or a snubby (cqc-14). both are under 3".

Great excuse for a new knife :D:thumbup:

You probably need to post this question in the "laws" forum, and find out exactly what Bahamina law is.....

My experience with cruise ships going back and forth from Mexico, is that nobody (not US customs or the people on the boat) even cared that I had a CQC-7 clipped on my pocket. Strangely, it didn't even set off the metal detectors!!!

The 7 is just over 3", so you might want to pick up something that is under 3", like a 14 or Bullnose Karambit.

Moving from Emerson to Knife Laws ...

You've got two questions there, and the most important is probably the cruise ship rules. If they don't like your knife, it won't even make it to the Bahamas! :) But you need real information, not Bladeforums lawyers. Call the cruise line and write to the Bahamian Embassy for hard information.

(And then come back here and tell us!)
