Check 'em out!
I call these this style the "Legal EDC" as it has a roughly 3" blade and a 4.5" handle. I consider the handle full sized and the three inch blade is legal in many states.
These were a lot of fun and I got to use a lot of different scale material. There are some handmade composites including my own Black Glow, Felt Camo, Shadetree's Krypto and Black/White Blue glow.
Ten of these are in O1 tool steel and five are in Aldo's 1084. The grind is a deep hollow chisel grind with a convex tip and slightly convexed edge that blends together. I find this grind has as little behind the edge as possible combined with a strong spine. The chisel grind gives the knife strength at the plunge line which can be a weak spot in other knives. The hardware is flared stainless steel tubing and I used West System G-Flex epoxy to attach the scales. These are sole authorship including the heat treat which was done in my digitally controlled kiln.
I always make my kydex sheaths tek-lok compatible in multi positions for many carry options. The holes at the end of the sheath are chamfered to accept cord for necker use and the hardware is removable for cleaning and setup versatility.
Enjoy the photos!
