Bernard Levine's website has a section with the laws listed state-by-state. Perhaps you can find what you're looking for there?

thanks, however this was the fist site that i really checked and it talks nothing in regards to length

I just checked the Wisconsin laws. I think you're OK as far as length, but if the Manix can be wrist-flicked open, that could be an issue.
...by gravity or by a thrust or movement is guilty...

Wisconsin Statutes Annotated 941.24. Possession of switchblade knife

(1) Whoever manufactures, sells or offers to sell, transports, purchases, possesses or goes armed with any knife having a blade which opens by pressing a button, spring or other device in the handle or by gravity or by a thrust or movement is guilty of a Class A misdemeanor.

(2) Within 30 days after April 16, 1959, such knives shall be surrendered to any peace officer.

------

Possession of balisong or butterfly knives is prohibited by W.S.A. § 941.24, since their blades open by a thrust or movement. Op.Atty.Gen. 21-87, April 15, 1987.

There is no restriction on blade length in Wisconsin. Switchblades and balisongs appear to be the only restricted blades.

I can't think of a folder that can't open by "thurst or movement"...that is some really bad wording in my opinion.......any folder would be illegal if the officer is so inclined to arrest you....
