anyone know if it legal to carry fixed blade as long as it is not concealed? what about blade length? thanks for the help m

It can be concealed too and still be legal. Georgia eased its state-wide knife laws a few years ago (so most non-official sources you may find online are out of date).

In short, carrying any knife, folder or fixed, is only illegal if you are under 18 AND it's designed for offense or defense, or if you have are committing a crime and have a knife with a blade that is 3 inches or more in length.

Most recent law can be found here. See Title 16, Chapter 11.

Beware of local county and cities laws, as well as the odd cop here and there that may not have gotten the memo about the state law.
