Legal to carry dagger shaped blades in Texas?

A "dagger" is illegal to carry, concealed or openly, but to be a dagger the knife must be doubled-edged. A "spear point" knife with one dull edge or a "false edge" doesn't count. However if the second edge is only sharp part of the way down, it still counts as double-edged (Armendariz v. State)

In addition to the last post, various counties have some laws that are more strict than the state in general.
There have been recent efforts to streamline it, but not sure where that legislation is in the process.

The preemption law passed last legislative session. Since 01 September 2015, only state law applies. Cities and counties may have ordinances for specific buildings and venues, such as court rooms and city council meetings. Schools may have restrictions about knife carry on their campuses and facilities. Cities and counties may NOT pass ordinances more restrictive than state law for general carry.
