Legality of body armor

I just traded a friend for a Second Chance level IIa vest. I live in Kalifornia, the restriction state. I've heard people saying they are legal, but not for felons. I can't find the section in my penal code. Can someone tell me the what's up?

Good question. They aren't illegal to own here in Tennessee, but who knows what the deal is in California. Especially since the shot out with those well armed bank robbers a few years ago. Incidents like that tend to cause knee jerk reactions. I can't find anything saying they are illegal in California.

Any California residents care to chime in?

Thanks for the response Dennis. Looks like I'm in the clear. An officer in my crim02 class said the same.
