Legit/genuine winkler axe?

Hey all!

I've been eyeballing the Winkler hammer-poll combat axes (the TAD gear versions), and a mint one came up the other day on the 'Bay, for a really good price, and... I bought it

I'm 95% certain that it's legit, given the tapered tang, and the apparent attention to detail that I can see in the photos (chamfering of the top edge, scale alignment, etc.), but just wanted to do a quick sanity check that it's not a really convincing fake. Which... would suck.

I have that exact same axe. Based on everything I see, it looks legit. Good grab there.

Looks legit to me too. I have the same one but with Maple handles.

I just received an email from Mr. Winkler confirming that it is indeed a genuine Winkler axe. It's an earlier version of the TAD combat axe, with different tang thickness than the more recent un-tapered ones.
