Yes, for preservation of bone or stag, mainly to keep it from shrinking. If it is the same thing with lemon added I would not think it was any better. I use linseed, or tung oil for wood. Thank you, Charles
Non drying oils like mineral oil should not be used on natural materials-especially stag.
The oil softens and discolors the material. Natural materials don't contain mineral oil in nature.
Use paste wax instead.
