How is the length of a curved blade measured?
Along the curve, or linear? If along the curve: Cutting edge or centerline? What if it's a dual cutting edge?

However you want to. Most of the time however it's linear. From the middle of where the handle meets the blade to the part of the blade most distant from that point. Most of the time that should be the tip, unless its some crazily curved blade.

Most of us dealers typically measure the full visible blade all the way to the handle. We just recently started listing the cutting edge on knives as well, but we measure in a straight line and not the distance you would get if you stretched the actual cutting edge out straight.

Usually there are two measurements:

Blade length = Typically from the handle scale to the tip, sometimes from the plunge line where the main grind starts to the tip. In both cases its done in a straight line between the two points.

Edge length = As if you took a string and measured along the cutting edge.

This mainly matters for certain area's knife laws.
